Winery and Wine Tasting

Ontario Barn Vineyards is closed until Spring. We look forward to seeing you in March 2012.

Ontario Barn Vineyards Tasting RoomAn 11 acre Christmas tree and fruit farm with bucolic views of 19th century red barns is the backdrop for the town of Ontario’s first winery! Ontario Barn Vineyards will be producing its first vintages of white wines this season, which will be bottled in Spring 2012. Meanwhile, it offers some of the best wines from around New York State for tasting in its rustic and iconic 1875 red barn.

Ontario Barn Vineyards wine tasting room is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 5:30 pm. Our  retail boutique features the very best New York State wines, our own label chardonnay, and fine retail gift items. To see before and after photos of the barn renovation, click here.

Featured Wines at Ontario Barn Vineyards
Late Summer Offerings

Chardonnay
2008 Chardonnay Reserve from Castel Grisch of Watkins Glen, NY.
A dry, rich chardonnay that will delight you.

Riesling
2010 Dry Riesling from Billsboro winery,  Geneva,  NY.
Bursting with fruit aromas and crisp minerality.

2009 Semi Dry Riesling from Lamoreaux Landing of Lodi, NY.
Rich and elegant with notes of tangerine, apricots and honeydew.

White Table Wine
2010 Kashong White from Billsboro
A crisp, fruity blend crafted from 80% Seyval and 20% Cayuga.

Seneca Dream White from Castel Grisch
You could walk through our vineyards and if you squeezed a ripe Niagara grape in your fingers and sucked its juices, this would be the dominant flavor of this wine.  It’s a refreshing, lightly sweet blend of Niagara and Delaware grapes.

2010 Ontario Barn Vineyards
Our first offering for tasting only, not for sale, blends Niagara, Aurora, Diamond and Gewürztraminer grapes grown on the premises for a most refreshing semi dry.

Blush
Emperor’s Blush from Chateau Lafayette Reneau of Hector , NY.
Richer tasting than other blush wines, it is crafted from a blend of noble and hybrid Vinifera, resulting in luscious notes of strawberry and melon.

Red Table Wine
Estate Red from Lamoreaux Landing
is a delightful, barrel aged Cab Franc blended with Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.  Whiffs of cherry and light oak stir the senses.

Barn Raising Red by Americana Vineyards,  Interlaken, NY
We love this crisp, lightly sweet red as a chilled summer wine.  Cawtaba and Baco Noir are blended to achieve its refreshing delight.  From one red barn to another in appreciation!

Cabernet Sauvignon
2005 Cabernet Sauvignon from Chateau Lafayette Reneau
I think this is the best Finger Lakes Cab.  A harmonious rounded nose of berries, plums and black pepper clear the way for the opulent flavors of anise and smoke.

Pinot Noir
2007 Pinot Noir Estate from Castello di Borghese,  Cutchogue, NY.
This wonderful North Fork of Long Island Pinot Noir presents to you the delectable benefits of Long Island’s 210 day growing season.   Savor its intense dark ruby color and aromas of spice, ground coffee and black cherry.

2006 barrel fermented Pinot Noir also from Castello di Bourghese
Our finest offering in a red, this Pinot Noir features exotic aromas of black cherry, roses and hints of leather.  Harmonious blends of vanilla and currant with a layering hint of toasted oak.

Merlot
2007 Estate Merlot by Castello di Borghese

Currant Wine
Legacy Currant Wine by Marjim Manor winery, Appleton, NY.
This is a rare and fabulous treat.  Marjim Manor has mastered the art of making a rich, delicious wine from currants (90% currants and 10% strawberry).  I recommend this as a substitute for cranberry sauce at your next holiday meals or as a dinner wine with pheasant or turkey.

Ice Wine
2008 Vidal Blanc Ice Wine from Castel Grisch
This crisp sweet Vidal Blanc outperforms many of its cousin ice wines from around the region and across the international border.
